It’s Time to Stop Starvation in Sudan.

The situation in Blue Nile and South Kordofan is dire. There is an immediate need for humanitarian aid and civilian protection. Recently, John Prendergast and George Clooney published a piece in TIME “Famine as a Weapon: It’s Time to Stop Starvation in Sudan.” Act for Sudan urges you to use this article as an opportunity to contact Members of Congress. But two war crimes in particular — aerial bombing against civilians and blocking humanitarian aid — are leading to the biggest killer of all: famine,” Clooney and Prendergast write.

I hope, as a leader in Congress and as a powerful voce for the marginalized people of Sudanese, you will call upon the Obama Administration to impose a no fly zone along the North South border that would open a corridor from the South for emergency humanitarian assistance, which would halt forced starvation that is now taking place as the world stands by.
